Abstract

This  paper  presents  a  proposal  to  automate   the  programming   process for  the  vehicle floor mat cutting robot at Inylbra, which is currently performed manually using the Fagor CNC 8055T controller. The methodology adopted was based on literature review, analysis of multi-axis CAM software, technical visits, and a study of the machine’s kinematics, with the aim of developing, within the SprutCAM X Robot software, an automated method for converting three-dimensional models into G-code. The proposed workflow includes importing the die, defining cutting paths, virtual simulation for collision detection, and automatic generation of the CNC program. The expected results indicate a reduction of up to 80% in the initial setup time for dies, significantly reducing the time required for programming and process validation. Furthermore, the solution contributes to the reduction of human errors, rework, and operational risks, increasing the precision, repeatability, and reliability of operations. It is concluded that the use of SprutCAM X Robot integrated with the CNC system represents a viable alternative for modernizing the production process, promoting greater operational efficiency and alignment with Industry 4.0 and digital manufacturing concepts.
