This article analyzes the application of additive manufacturing (3D printing) in the maintenance sector of Auto Viação Redentor, focusing on reducing bus downtime and operational costs. The company, a reference in public transportation in Curitiba, faces challenges related to the high cost and long lead time for replacing components, especially door control buttons, which have a high replacement rate. The study aims to evaluate the technical and economic feasibility of using 3D printing to manufacture these components. The methodology combines bibliographic research, field observations, interviews, and maintenance data analysis. The results indicate that additive manufacturing can reduce replacement costs, decrease dependence on external suppliers, shorten component acquisition time, and improve fleet availability. Therefore, the proposed solution presents technical and economic viability, contributing to the optimization of maintenance processes and operational efficiency.
